Welcome to the official website for the Canmore Crux Gravel Bike Event, scheduled to return on Saturday July 12th, 2025. We invite you to join us for a day of adventure set in the majestic Canadian Rockies. This year, we are pleased to announce two distinct race distances designed to accommodate cyclists of all abilities: an 80 km course for those in pursuit of an endurance challenge, and a 32 km route ideal for participants eager to experience the excitement of gravel racing in a more concise format.
We are excited to announce that the Event is the provincial championships for the Open Men and Open Women. Please note that you must have an ABA Provincial or UCI license to receive a provincial medal.
Participants who do not hold an ABA Provincial or UCI license are not covered by Sport Accident Insurance. Having a license offers protection in the event of an accident. More information on benefits are found here www.albertabicycle.ab.ca/benefits.
Around each bend, where the trail ensues,
your reward awaits with breathtaking views.
80 KM and 32 KM GRAVEl BIKE RACE IN THE MAJESTIC CANADIAN ROCKIES
Welcome to the Canmore Crux
The Canmore Crux Gravel Bike Race is set
to take place in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies this June!
What better way to start your season than with a distinctive
and enjoyable race at one of the most picturesque locations in Canada? We are thrilled to once again hold our event at the Canmore Nordic Centre.
Our mission is to host a race that welcomes all endurance athletes. The course features a variety of challenging elevations, yet remains accessible and not overly technical, suitable for anyone with reasonable bike handling skills.
Don't have a gravel bike or prefer a more comfortable ride? Mountain bikes are also heartily encouraged!
CYCLISTS REJOICE!
We are happy to welcome gravel cyclists and mountain bikers to join in on the fun! There are simply not enough cycling events in our province this year, and we are excited to offer our Saturday event to seasoned and emerging cyclists. No license is required to compete.
Our event is recognized by the Alberta Biking Association (ABA) as a stand-alone event.
We strive to make this a unique, friendly weekend where you can participate in an inspiring, grassroots event for an affordable cost and connect with your friends and family afterwards.
Date: Saturday, July 12, 2025.
Start: Mass start at 9:00 AM for both the 80 km and 32 km events.
Prizes: The top 3 women and men will walk away with some stellar prizes!
Preparation: Read the Event Guide and watch the YouTube pre-race video (available 2-weeks out).
Rules: Adherence to all standard rules with a special focus on littering, bear spray, and parking.
Beyond the race, we encourage participants to make the most of the weekend exploring the beauty of Canmore, Banff, and the Bow Valley.
Make it a weekend to remember, invite your friends and family to join in, hang out, or volunteer!
Welcome to our playground

This adventure mecca is known for it's craggy summits like the Three Sisters and Ha Ling Peak, as well as the Grassi Lakes Trail which weaves past a waterfall to 2 turquoise blue lakes.
